(Kansas City, MO) – City Market is excited to host Art Garden KC every Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in City Market Park, adjacent to City Market at 3rd and Main. Art Garden KC is a consortium of diverse, local artists and makers that originated in the nearby Pendleton Heights neighborhood in 2021.

Art Garden KC in City Market Park will feature a rotation of more than 60 vendors, kids’ art activities, and an open mic showcase every Sunday through October 30. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.

“As a non-profit focused on supporting local artists, we’re thrilled to be at a venue that will elevate our artists’ visibility and expand their exposure to the greater community,” Art Garden KC Founder Bethany Alzanadi said.

Canvases, cards, and candles are just a few of the handcrafted local items regularly sold alongside a plethora of locally grown produce available every weekend during the Farmers Market. Beginning this Sunday, visitors can also shop Art Garden KC’s unique handmade jewelry, décor, ceramics, fiber arts, leatherwork, wood crafts and more.

“We’re very excited to welcome Art Garden KC to City Market Park,” said Sue Patterson, City Market’s Director of Marketing, “Their works are imaginative and unexpected and will broaden the Farmers Market experience with an emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and creativity for the entire community.”

City Market visitors have already gotten a taste of Art Garden KC during Fresh Fridays, a summertime series introduced in June that takes place on the first Friday evening of each month through September.
