This transformative project invites professional real estate developers to submit innovative mixed-use proposals that will enhance the vibrancy of City Market while respecting its historic significance within the community as a public market and tourist destination.

City Market has been a cornerstone of Kansas City for more than 165 years, offering a dynamic marketplace for local entrepreneurs, farmers, and artisans. The redevelopment of the Steamboat Arabia Museum site presents a unique opportunity to integrate new retail spaces, a boutique hotel, and essential parking facilities, all while maintaining the market’s unique charm. Established in 1989, The CMOC is an appointed committee intended to provide guidance and direction on all matters pertaining to City Market to the City of Kansas City, Missouri. CMOC serves as a guiding body for the management and development of City Market.
