(Kansas City, MO) – It may be 256 days until Merry Market, but City Market has a SWEET holiday announcement we simply can’t wait to share! GingerBread Lane, a massive and entirely edible gingerbread village, will be one of the largest holiday treats ever at City Market.
“Mr. GringerBread” himself, Chef/Artist and GingerBread Lane Architect Jon Lovitch, will construct and display this massive interpretation of Kansas City in miniature frosted cookie form in the Paddle Wheel Atrium at 400 Grand in City Market beginning mid-November – we’ll announce a more specific timeframe later on. Lovitch, a Kansas City native, holds the Guinness World Record for the largest entirely edible gingerbread village.
“I used to live near the River Market and frequented City Market, so I’m excited to bring my creations back,” Lovitch said. “It will truly be ‘home sweet home’ for me.”
The GingerBread Lane display will depict many local features, well-known landmarks, and recognizable buildings including City Market, the KC Streetcar, Union Station, and much more. Lovitch is already hard at work designing the individual pieces and will assemble the display onsite in November. The GingerBread Lane will be FREE and open to the public. Hours will be announced closer to opening.
LET’S GET COOKIE-ING!
