KC CHALK & WALK FESTIVAL

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, AUG. 31 – SEPT. 1

You’ll be in “chalk and awe” Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 – Sept. 1 (Labor Day
Weekend) when the Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival returns to City Market. Two full days of chalking
action are FREE, open to the public, and all ages are welcome.

Watch up to 60 chalk artists chalk up some fun. Pose with whimsical selfie murals, and marvel over master
chalk artists’ three-dimensional masterpieces – no glasses necessary. Anything goes with this year’s open
theme, so expect the unexpected, and pssst, you didn’t hear this from us: a certain “3peat” trophy is
rumored to appear in all its 3D chalk glory.

Get grounded – in a good way! Calling kids of all ages: get your hands dirty in the public chalking space.
Doodle yourself a most colorful weekend. Chalk is provided. Just show up with your imagination (and knee
pads).

Established in 2008 and in its third year at City Market, KC Chalk & Walk has been a visual and performing
arts nonprofit organization (501c3) funded by donations, grants, and sponsorships.
